UK PREMIERE OF SCRAPPER TO OPEN SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL: LONDON
ON 6 JULY 2023

Sundance Institute and Picturehouse are delighted to announce that the tenth edition of the Festival is set for 6 – 9 July 2023 with SCRAPPER receiving its UK premiere on Thursday 6 July at Picturehouse Central.

The film won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic when it had its world premiere at Sundance Film Festival in Utah in January.

SCRAPPER writer/director Charlotte Regan hails from London and was BAFTA nominated for her first short film, Standby.  Charlotte is a Sundance Ignite Fellow and was named as a 2020 Screen International Star of Tomorrow. SCRAPPER, her debut feature, stars Harris Dickinson (Beach Rats, Triangle of Sadness) and newcomers Lola Campbell and Alin Uzun. Theo Barrowclough produces, and the executive producers are Michael Fassbender, Eva Yates, Farhana Bhula, Conor McCaughan, Daniel Emmerson and Jim Reeve. The film was financed by BBC Film, BFI and Great Point Media, and developed with the support of Creative England and the iFeatures scheme.

The film follows Georgie, a dreamy 12-year-old girl, who lives happily alone in her London flat, filling it with magic. Suddenly, her estranged father turns up and forces her to confront reality.

The film will receive its UK premiere on Thursday 6 July at Picturehouse Central. There will be additional festival screenings of the film between 6 – 9 July at Picturehouse Central. Picturehouse Entertainment will release the film into UK cinemas on August 25 2023.
