Carrie Everett, the 86th Miss North Carolina, will head to the Miss America competition in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, Dec. 28. The North Carolina Central University student celebrated her going away recently with a wardrobe and talent showcase earlier this month at the Women’s Club of Raleigh. Everett, who won the title in June, will also be accompanied by Kamryn Hollowell, the 20th Miss North Carolina’s Teen, who will compete at the Miss America’s Teen competition. The Miss America’s Teen pageant will be held on Jan. 4and the Miss America pageant will be held on Jan. 5, 2025.
“My entire life, I’ve dreamed of the opportunity to compete in the Miss America pageant,” said Carrie Everett, who represented Johnston County in the state pageant. “I’m filled with gratitude, and I am so grateful for the people who have poured into me to prepare me for the opportunity of a lifetime.”
The Miss American pageant will be held at the Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts, with preliminary competitions starting on Dec. 31. The pageant is based on four areas of competition including interview, sportswear, evening gown and on-stage question. The pageant will be streamed live.
