Award-Nominated actress Lunden De’Leon (Sweet Home Carolina, We’re the Millers) has landed the role of Nancy Horniblow in the upcoming biopic “Harriet Jacobs ”.
The film is a powerful and inspiring biopic that follows the remarkable journey of Harriet Jacobs, an African American woman who escaped from slavery and became a prominent abolitionist and author.
Set in the antebellum South, the film begins in Edenton, North Carolina, where Harriet, known as Linda Brent, lives as a slave under the cruel and lecherous Dr. Flint. Determined to escape his clutches and secure a better future for herself and her children, Harriet embarks on a dangerous journey to freedom.
Best known for her role in Netflix’s “Blackbear”, De’Leon has starred in over fifty movies and television shows including “We’re the Millers”, “Turnt”, “Somebody’s Child” and “Sweet Home Carolina” to name a handful.
Harriet Jacobs also stars Emmy Award winner Loretta Devine (Waiting to Exhale, Madea’s Big Happy Family). The film is written and directed by Michaux Muanda.
